Paper porcelain and wild barley seeds – Molding technique – Firing at 1125°C – 2019.
The dish is an everyday object and a symbol of communion, it presents a dish that will be served. “Champs sur table” firstly tells of a shared meal but also of the origin of food, through its symbolism. The chosen dish is classic, ornamented and refers to a bourgeois culture. Through my work, it also represents a plowed field, a receptacle of scattered seeds, ready to germinate and invade the table. Food in the making. The wild barley that I glean from the wastelands is edible. This wild and invasive plant symbolizes spontaneous and free nature. “Champs sur table” combines two different temporalities which complement each other.
